PORTLAND, ME - On October 26-27, 2004, Diversified Business Communications will launch All Asia Food Expo, the nation's premier trade event featuring Asian food and beverage products sold to both retail and foodservice outlets. The event will be held in New York City at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
"The success of our Expo Comida Latina trade shows, the Hispanic food and beverage events that we've launched in Los Angeles and New York City, underscores the opportunity in ethnic food marketing in the United States," said Nancy Hasselback, president and CEO of Diversified Business Communications. "The Asian market is a rapidly emerging force in the United States, and this event reflects the importance of that market to the U.S. economy."
The Asian American population, with a total buying power approaching $300 billion, has created a significant domestic market for Asian food producers and importers. In addition, the heightened focus on healthier lifestyles and growing culinary sophistication of the baby boomer generation are increasing Asian food consumption in the mainstream population.
The Asian food market in the US is heavily reliant on imports from Asia. Diversified's reach and experience organizing food events in the Pacific rim, including internationally recognized seafood shows, and Fine Food Australia, provides direct access to importers in this market.
"This event taps into our expertise in operating trade shows that serve the ethnic food marketplace," said H Stephen Phillips, Show Director of Diversified Business Communications. "In addition to Expo Comida Latina, we produce Kosherfest, a trade show for the kosher food industry. Producing multiple ethnic food shows enables Diversified to provide buyers and sellers with convenient access to products and distribution channels that serve a range of different markets."
In 2004, for All Asia Food Expo's inaugural year, Diversified has chosen to co-locate it with Expo Comida Latina and Kosherfest, creating a novel one-stop ethnic food marketplace in New York-one of the nation's most diverse metropolitan areas, and a global capital of ethnic cuisine.
