JONES DAIRY FARM TO RECOGNIZE

AMERICA’S BEST RESTAURANT FAMILIES™

Nominations/Applications Are Now Sought for Inaugural Awards Program

FORT ATKINSON, Wis. (November 17, 2005) – Jones Dairy Farm, a sixth generation family-run business and leader in pre-cooked breakfast sausage for foodservice, announces the introduction of America’s Best Restaurant Families, a new awards program recognizing the accomplishments of today’s top restaurant and non-commercial foodservice families, according to Philip Jones, president, Jones Dairy Farm.

“As a 116-year-old family business, we understand what it takes to sustain a family enterprise and keep it successful,” said Jones. “And since many family-owned businesses also are our customers, we are equally aware of the hard work, dedication and acumen necessary to keep these establishments operating 365 days a year. It’s with that knowledge we decided to honor America’s best restaurant families.”

The award is eligible to any family who currently owns and operates a commercial restaurant(s) or non-commercial foodservice operation in the 50 United States or Washington, D.C. A qualified foodservice family can be nominated by a third party or simply complete and submit an official application. Entrants will be judged on a number of criteria including: values and/or business philosophy of the founders of the family operation; breadth and depth of family member participation in business functions; level of accomplishment and success achieved by the restaurant family; and community involvement by the family. Four finalists will be selected by a qualified panel of judges from all eligible applications and honored at a reception held in New York City on July 10, 2006. One grand prize winner also will be announced at the reception from the selected finalists.

“Whether it’s a weekly gathering place or a special occasion destination, we all have favorite family-owned restaurants – from single unit independents to chains to multi concepts -- that have become a big part of our lives,” said Jones. “It’s for that reason that we established this award program to honor this special segment of the foodservice industry. We hope people take a few minutes to nominate their favorite families.”

The four finalists for America’s Best Restaurant Families award program will receive a 3-day/2-night trip to New York City for four family members, Jones product valued at $500, a displayable award, inclusion in appropriate award related press materials and 4 badges to the New York Fancy Food Show. The Grand Prize winner also receives a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) gift certificate for one professional development course registration and an additional $500 in Jones product.

Nominating forms, entry applications and official contest rules are now available online at www.jonesdairyfarm.com. Official nominating forms can be submitted online via the Jones Dairy Farm web site or faxed to 773-334-6228. Nominating forms are due by March 17, 2006. Completed applications must be mailed and received by March 31, 2006. Jones Dairy Farm makes products with the old-fashioned quality and flavor one would expect from a company that’s been around since 1889. The company produces high quality breakfast sausage, ham, Canadian bacon, bacon, liver sausage and scrapple that is sold worldwide. Still family owned and operated, Jones Dairy Farm is committed to the same fundamental principals today as when the company was founded six generations ago.
