Vino de Milo Gourmet Sauces Now Available in Whole Foods Markets across five states
Vino de Milo’s all-natural, wine-based Italian sauces has increased distribution into 28 Whole Foods stores across the eastern U.S. This newest placement will be through Avenue Gourmet, a specialty foods distributor based in Owings Mills, Maryland.
Acclaimed by “The Today Show” online and the Chicago Tribune among others, Vino de Milo’s Italian line will be sold in all Whole Foods stores in Maryland, Kentucky, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Washington, D.C. The distribution deal has increased the brand’s availability to 39 states.
“We’re thrilled to be a part of the Whole Foods family,” said Jonathan Milo Leal, founder of Milo’s Whole World Gourmet, which produces all Vino de Milo sauces by hand. “Patricia and Lee at Avenue Gourmet were the first distributors to support us, and have been a significant factor in our company’s skyrocketing growth.”
“We appreciate the opportunity to bring new items to the market, and Milo’s is a product that we believe in and have been working with to move forward,” said Avenue Gourmet co-founder Lee Cohen. “Avenue’s unique mix of product lines has enabled the company to grow strong, and we work well with vendors large and small.”
The Whole Foods dedication to quality is unparalleled in the grocery business. Using rigorous criteria based on scientific research, their stores feature a wide selection of products made naturally, without artificial flavors, colorings, preservatives or additives.
The Whole Foods website states: “Our business is to sell the highest quality foods we can find at the most competitive prices possible. We evaluate quality in terms of nutrition, freshness, appearance, and taste. Our search for quality is a never-ending process involving the careful judgment of buyers throughout the company.”
Currently there are six Vino de Milo sauces: Bombay Cabernet, Portobello Shiraz, Mediterranean Pinot Grigio, Tuscan Merlot, North African Pinot Noir and Spicy North African Pinot Noir. Every sauce is sugar-free, low in sodium, contains no saturated fat and has as little as 40 calories per 4-ounce serving. The Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot come from producers in California’s highly touted Central Coast region; the Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir are from Trentino, a northeastern province of Italy. Created in small batches, Vino de Milo sauces are made with fresh herbs and vegetables for maximum flavor and have no additives, preservatives or artificial colorings.
The versatility of Vino de Milo is one of its key advantages. Anchored by wine and fresh ingredients such as cilantro, parsley, basil and garlic, the sauces pair perfectly with a wide variety of foods. From couscous to filet mignon, and quick snacks to formal dinners, there is a Vino de Milo sauce for almost any dish.
